Do you offer session types other than what your website showcases?

Yes. I have been a photographer for 10+ years and am experienced in almost every genre. Please inquire and  I can direct you to a specific genre portfolio page.

Where do we shoot?

Studio sessions are typically shot in my home and if you would like, can include my 1.5-acre park-like backyard.

 

On-location shoots can take place almost anywhere. We can shoot in your own home or yard, the beach, a park, your office, at a local hotel, a bed & breakfast, or any other location. 

 

Please note that many public places now charge photography fees. If you choose to shoot at any place that charges a fee, you will be responsible for the additional cost including any entrance, parking, and photography fees for everyone who attends your shoot, including the photographer and staff.  If you would like to shoot somewhere other than my studio, please be sure to mention it during our consultation so we can be properly prepared.

What do I wear?

First, that will depend on the type and style of shoot you choose.   We will discuss wardrobe during your planning consult and your prep guide also has a section dedicated to wardrobe choices. 

How much retouching do you do?

I believe in retouching to enhance your natural beauty. I will make you your most beautiful without making you someone you are not.  You will have an opportunity to choose the level of retouching you want.  There are more details on retouching in your prep guide.

How do I get my images?

Your images will be ready for viewing approximately 2 weeks after your session.  Images are available in print and in digital format.  Digital images are available the same day as your viewing and printed products may take a couple of weeks to order.

How far in advance should I book my session?

The sooner the better.  My calendar tends to fill 3-6 weeks in advance.  Plus you will want this time to prepare. With that said, don't hesitate to check with me if you need something sooner.  I can sometimes get you in sooner.

Why is my retainer non-refundable?

Most people don't realize how much work goes on behind the scenes "before" your photoshoot.  I begin work on your session as soon as your retainer is paid.  I usually have clocked several hours of work before you even arrive for your shoot. Therefore, your retainer covers some of the time I have worked on your session. Sometimes, I may even need to purchase something for your session.  In addition, in order to give all my clients a level of service they expect I set a certain number of days aside for shooting and a certain number of days aside for editing and business.  If you cancel, the chances of me filling that spot are low and therefore, I have a missed income opportunity.

What is your rescheduling policy?

A 24-hour notice is required.   You may reschedule one time without charge provided you have notified me at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Subsequent rescheduling will require a new retainer.  Exceptions are made for severe inclement weather and ER visits.  This policy is strictly enforced!

Do you offer a payment plan? 

Yes, I offer a prepaid payment plan.  I also accept all credit cards and Paypal offers 6-month interest-free payments. 

What are the restrictions stated on my studio voucher or coupon?

Studio vouchers may only be used for products and services offered by Barton Portrait and may not be used for outside vendors including hair and makeup artists, vendor photography fees, parking fees, or any other outside fees. Vouchers are not redeemable for a mini-session event unless specified on the voucher. Studio vouchers may not be exchanged for cash.  All vouchers 'must' be mentioned at the time of booking and physically surrendered no later than your reveal appointment to receive credit. Prepaid gift certificates are different from vouchers and are explained below.

 

PrePaid Gift Certificates can be used on Barton Portrait services and products only same as cash in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.  They cannot be used for outside vendor services.
